The external speaker on your phone is the same speaker that’s used for audio when your phone is placed on speakerphone.
- Samsung: the speaker is typically located on the left side of the back of the phone near the bottom
- HTC: this manufacturer typically designs the speaker into the front of the phone on the top and/or bottom
- LG: the speakers are typically located on the back of the phone near the bottom
If you’re not sure where your external speakers are located, the easiest way to find them is to turn on the speakerphone when you’re on a call. The speakerphone audio will be coming from the external speaker on the phone.
To turn on your speakerphone, first dial a number and press the call button. You’ll then see an option for “Speaker” or an image of a speaker. Simply press this button to turn on speakerphone.
Once you identify where your speaker is located, place your phone face up on a hard surface such as a table, and orient your phone so that the speaker is as close as possible to the sound holes in the leak detector.
If your speaker is on the underside (back) of the phone, that's ok. Keep the phone face up, and just get the sound holes on your leak detector as close to that speaker as possible.
If you have 2 speakers (typically at the top and bottom of the phone), choose one of the speaker locations of the two and place the leak detector near that one speaker.
