You can set and adjust the alert settings for your garage door sensor in your Roost app.
Start at the home screen and tap on the name of your garage door sensor. After you are in the location view (see next image), tap ‘Alert Settings’.
The first setting you can adjust here is whether you wish to be alerted every time your garage door opens or closes. To amend this setting, you can either tap ‘Alert me always’ or you can set a ‘custom schedule’. If you wish to set a custom schedule, tap on this option, then tap ‘Add’. Next, you can change the schedule name and select the start time and end time for when your garage door will be open. You can also select the days in which this schedule is applicable. This means that when your garage door is open between these set times and on these set days, you will not receive an alert.
The next setting that you can add here is whether you wish to receive an alert if your garage door is open for more than a certain amount of time. If you wish to add this setting, tap the option ‘Alert if door is open more than’, then tap ‘Add’. Here you can select 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 4 minutes, 5 minutes or 10 minutes. For example, if you select 5 minutes, you will be alerted if your garage door is open for longer than 5 minutes time.
The last setting that can be adjusted is whether you wish to be alerted if your garage door is open after a certain time. To set this alert option, tap ‘Alert me if door is open after’, then tap ‘Add’. Next you can select the time. For example, if you select 10pm you will be alerted if your garage door is still open after 10 o’clock at night.
